Ecclesia Interrupta - @ The Broel Towers

Set within the historic landmark Broel Towers in Kortrijk, Ecclesia Interrupta examines how sacred forms are transformed when disrupted by contemporary interventions. Across two floors of the former fortress, sculptures by Ghislaine de Wilde and Nathan French, alongside etched canvases by Yann Laissy, enter into dialogue with inherited iconography and the building’s architectural memory.

Bound, veiled, and recontextualised, the figures exist in a state of suspended ritual—an interruption of prayer, myth, and gesture.  They stand as arrested processions: the solemnity of worship held still, the body trapped between devotion and erasure.
